PERSONALITY

Faith Josephine Flintlock is a resilient, resourceful, and fiercely determined young woman. Her experiences have shaped her into a strong and independent individual, with a heart driven by both grief and hope. Faith possesses an unyielding moral compass, instilled in her by her late father, though her faith in God has been profoundly shaken by the tragedies she has faced. She has redirected this faith into herself and her mission. Faith is deeply compassionate, often placing the needs of others above her own, yet she harbors a relentless need to right the wrong committed by the supernatural forces that destroyed her family.

When faced with adversity, she remains calm and composed, refusing to crumble under pressure. Her upbringing instilled in her a thoughtful and measured way of speaking—she is often careful with her words, choosing them for both clarity and purpose, yet her voice can carry the warmth of kindness and the weight of conviction when needed.

She does not believe in killing human beings, as this goes against the teachings of the Bible, particularly the commandment: "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13). Her reverence for life means she will always look for an alternative when it comes to living, breathing people. However, she has no qualms about killing vampires, seeing them not as truly alive but as soulless creatures. In her mind, it is not a sin to destroy what is already dead.

Despite her gentleness, Faith is more than capable of standing her ground when necessary. Her kindness is not a sign of weakness, and she will fiercely protect those who need it, often putting herself at risk for the sake of others.

Though her life is marked by tragedy, she enjoys a good story or song, appreciates a well-timed joke, and has a particular fondness for dancing—an escape from the harsh realities of the world she navigates. She finds solace in these small moments of joy, which remind her of the happier, simpler days of her youth.

Her pragmatism is one of her strongest qualities. Faith is a strategic thinker who carefully plans her moves, whether in battle or social encounters. She relies on keen observation, thorough investigation, and common sense. Her intelligence is coupled with an exceptional ability to adapt to situations, allowing her to respond quickly to new challenges.

A natural with animals and children, Faith has a deep understanding of fear and pain, both in people and creatures. Her calm and steady demeanor allows her to soothe those in distress, and she always does her best to help those in need. While Faith is incredibly empathetic and good-hearted, she is also someone who values loyalty above all. Once she considers someone a friend or ally, she will go to great lengths to protect them.

Faith's Christian upbringing is also something that has profoundly shaped her, even as the tragedies she has faced have shaken her faith in God. She has redirected this faith into herself and her mission. Despite the questioning of her faith, the moral and ethical foundation laid by her father continues to guide her decisions and actions. As a Christian, she wants to believe that everyone is capable of redemption, that deep down, even the darkest hearts can be turned towards the light. This sometimes leads her to overlook the more obvious dangers in people, believing in their potential for good even when the truth is harder to see.

In a society that expects women to adhere to strict gender roles, Faith is something of an oddity. She knows how to behave like a lady, donning dresses, petticoats, and engaging in proper manners when necessary. However, she is equally comfortable in a wide-brimmed hat and worn self-made breeches, embodying the rugged spirit of the frontier.

APPEARANCE

Faith Josephine Flintlock is a striking figure with piercing blue eyes and a mane of tousled, dark hair that falls just past her shoulders. Her features are sharp and expressive, framed by a few freckles scattered across her nose and cheeks. With an average stature, her slender yet toned physique subtly reveals a hidden core of strength, unwavering resolve, and remarkable physical capability.

Her sartorial choices reflect her adaptable nature, effortlessly flowing between the utilitarian garments of farm life and the elegance of her Sunday finery. Faith's ability to mold her appearance to her circumstances is apparent in the seamless shifts from a rustic work dress to a button-down blouse, accentuated by a buckaroo scarf, suspenders, a well-worn belt, and, at times, a worn leather vest. Ingeniously, she modifies her skirts to meet the demands of the untamed frontier, exemplifying not only her resourcefulness but also her unwavering resolve to flourish amidst any surroundings.

MISCELLANEOUS

Faith has a copper coloured Missouri Fox Trotter horse named Hope. 🐎

Her weapon of choice is a distinctive, custom flintlock rifle that bears the craftsmanship of her deceased father's hands. Through meticulous modification, he transformed the rifle to accept conventional bullets, just as Faith would later transform it to accept specially-crafted wooden ones. These alterations allow for increased accuracy, faster reloading times, and a more consistent performance.

Another weapon of significance is an wooden stake, intricately carved by Crimson Wing of the Red Crow tribe and given to her as a gift.

Constantly adorning her neck is a delicate, silver cross, a cherished symbol of her faith and a reminder of the values she holds dear.

Faith's best friend is Georgia Graves, a half-vampire she once tried to kill—until she saw something in her that she'd never seen in a vampire before: humanity. After that fateful encounter, the two became an unlikely duo, tentatively joining forces against the undead before eventually growing into true cowgirl partners and even found family as they roamed the land side by side.
